# ☕ MCP Morning — Sat, Oct 24, 2026

Good morning. Today's picks are about giving coding agents better information with less noise: a local code map for Claude Code, notes on dependencies that changed after a model's training cutoff, a bridge from Claude Code and Codex to DeepSeek Harness, an alerting stack with a built-in MCP server, and a tool that keeps raw tool output out of the context window. The story is a terminal multiplexer built for running several agents at once.

## 🔥 Trending & new MCPs

- **[Vesalius](https://github.com/haplollc/Vesalius)** — A code map for Claude Code, built and kept on your Mac: five read-only MCP tools (`usages`, `feature_map`, `outline`, `architecture`, `dependency_cycles`) answer questions like "who calls this?" with file and line references.
*Why it matters:* instead of a chain of searches and file reads, the assistant asks the map. The authors' own benchmark of 20 questions claims about half the tokens with similar answer quality. Call graphs cover Swift, TypeScript, JavaScript and Python. It needs an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 15+; install with `brew install haplollc/tap/vesalius` and `vesalius setup`, which `vesalius setup --undo` reverses. 68 ⭐ on GitHub.
- **[stalemap](https://github.com/umair/stalemap)** — Finds the JavaScript and TypeScript dependencies that changed after your model's training cutoff and tells the agent what changed.
*Why it matters:* agents keep writing code for old APIs when a project pins newer versions. stalemap writes a short notes block into `AGENTS.md` or `CLAUDE.md`, runs the project's type-check after each edit, and exposes a `search_changes` MCP tool. The author claims 89% of sessions passed in a pre-registered 66-task benchmark, against 68% with no help. It's early and maintained by one person; try it with `npx stalemap`. MIT, 100 ⭐ on GitHub.
- **[dsh-baton](https://github.com/jialaoliu/dsh-baton)** — An MCP server that lets Claude Code or Codex hand a task to DeepSeek Harness, watch it run live in the Harness app, and get woken when it's done.
*Why it matters:* it's a clean pattern for sending long jobs from one agent to another without an extra API key, since it reuses the Harness desktop sign-in. Tools cover workspaces, sessions and runs, including follow-up and steer messages to a busy session. It needs DeepSeek Harness 0.2.1-rc.2 or later, on macOS or Windows. MIT, 20 ⭐ on GitHub.
- **[Nightingale](https://github.com/ccfos/nightingale)** — Self-hosted alerting that evaluates rules against Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Elasticsearch, Loki, ClickHouse and other sources, then routes notifications to Slack, PagerDuty and more.
*Why it matters:* its MCP server runs inside Nightingale at `/mcp`, exposes read tools by default, and applies the caller's existing API permissions; write tools need explicit configuration. That lets an assistant look at alert rules and event history without broad access. Apache-2.0, 13,384 ⭐ on GitHub.
- **[context-mode](https://github.com/mksglu/context-mode)** — An MCP server that keeps raw tool output in a sandbox instead of your context window, and tracks session events in SQLite so the agent can pick up after compaction.
*Why it matters:* the README claims 315 KB of tool output shrinks to 5.4 KB, and it pushes agents to write a small script that prints only the result instead of reading dozens of files. It supports 17 clients. Install it as a Claude Code plugin, or MCP-only with `claude mcp add context-mode -- npx -y context-mode`. Licensed under ELv2, 32,046 ⭐ on GitHub.

## 🗞️ Agent story

**[Corgi, a helpful {agent, terminal} multiplexer](https://corgi.computer/)** ([HN](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50214373)) — Inspired by Herdr, Corgi is a tmux-style terminal multiplexer that shows what each agent is doing and which one needs you, with F1 jumping to the next unread agent. It launches Claude Code, Codex, Pi and OpenCode with your existing accounts, tracks token use and per-workspace CPU, memory and GPU, shows every file an agent touched, and keeps agents and dev servers running in the background. The author built it during a long sick leave to see if they could get back to work, and says the answer was mixed but they're happy with the result. It runs on macOS, Linux and WSL. 87 points on Hacker News.

npm's public download counts now run through Oct 22, so this week's numbers have moved again. Downloads include CI and bot traffic, so treat these as signals, not endorsements. [How we rank →](https://mcpmorning.com/methodology/)
